SLIDE SHOW: Fjällfest in Storulvån, Jämtland

14 April. Thursday night 18.15. A long weekend of mountain activities during Jämtlands beautiful “spring winter” season. I’ve been invited to give a slide show on the connection between my career as an environmental economist — where I put a price on nature — and my racing career as a multisport endurance athlete — where my sport is dependent on nature protection. TRAINING CAMP: Sardinien, Italy

28 April – 6 May. I’m headed to a new Mediterranean island where I’ve never been before. The plan is to spend some time on my road bike and with my trail shoes.

RACE: TrentaPassi Sky Race,  Italy

8 May. Thanks to Emmie Collinge (winner of the AXA fjällmara) for inviting me down to this race on my way back from Sardinia. An epic 15 km race with lots of vertical. TRAINING: Östersund, Sweden

23-24 May. I’ve been invited as a “guest running coach” for Lena Gavelin’s running group with Östersund Kommun. We’ll be focusing on running technique on both Monday and Tuesday night with a short slide show and then drills to improve your running step.

4 July.  A 3 hr clinic with a slide show on paddle technique and paddle exercises on the water (Storjön). Aimed at recreational and competitive paddlers that want to learn the basics behind an effective paddle stroke. 6 pm to 9 pm. More info here.

AUGUST

RACE : AXA Fjäll lmarathon, Jämtland, Sweden

30 July – 5 August. I’ll be racing in the 27 km race on Saturday 30 July and Vivobarefoot’s obstacle race on 3 August (18.00). I’ll even be giving a presentation together with Anders Nordström of Art of Running on Wednesday night, about my transition from heel-running to natural running. More info here. RACE: Hamperokken Sky Race, Tromsö, Norway

6 August. Some people like running. I like trail running and I like adventure. So I signed up for Emelie Forsberg’s 50 km Sky Race in Northern Norway, a race that takes you from the ocean to the highest peaks (twice) with lots of off-trail scrambling in between. Watch this cool film from last year.
