Lots of rest in recent days after that C2C Double that put a real beat-down on me. (read previous post).

So I’ve had some fun playing with my new mountain bike from NOR Bicycles.

NOR Bicycles is one of my new Partners for 2014 and they recently sent me my MTB via post. It took 3 weeks and I waited anxiously, checking this page everyday before it finally arrived

The day it finally arrived…

NOR is a unique brand of bikes (www.norbicycles.com). The company builds their own frames and then assembles them to match customers’ personalities (using inputs from Shimano, DT Swiss, Selle Italia, Vortec, etc.). They can ‘personalize’ mountain bikes (26, 27.5, 29), road bikes, time trial bikes, cyclocross bikes, commuter bikes and just about any other human-powered two wheeler.

And they do it all in their unique and re-furbished building in Sandnes, Norway, which was formally the old factory of Cycle Europe and the brand DBS (http://www.sandnes-sykkelfabrikk.no). The factory produced all styles of bikes decades ago and now it’s been “born again.”

Bike components are important, but how they’re put together is what counts. The name and email of the technician that assembled your bike is on each NOR frame.

How it works

– You go on line and build your own customized bike using their “Fit4You” web-based system: price level, components, wheels, saddle, color, types of handle bar grips, wiring, headset, etc. …

– Within a week, they zip it up in a bag and mail it to you. They deliver all over Europe.

So what did I get?

– 2014 model with 27.5 inch wheels (I’ve made the move from 29 and love it!)
– Black frame with red wiring … to match my website of course
– Fully equipped with XTR shifters/brakes
– DT Swiss 1501 wheels, Rockshox Sid XX fork, Easton components, Rocket Ron tires
– Selle Italia saddle
– Weighs just over 8 kg with pedals
