Thanks to everybody for their feedback and interest in my race report from the Tripp Trapp Triathlon in Stavanger. I hope I’ve inspired some folks to book that date in the summer calendar in 2014.
My story just got picked up by one of the main adventure racing and multisport websites, Sleepmonsters.com. The story is here.
Sleepmonsters is the leading media site that covers adventure racing around the world, with Rob Howard as the main reporter. Rob has a great job, traveling the globe and taking pictures of exhausted athletes in remote landscapes. I’ve met Rob in places such as the French Alps, Tasmanian Wilderness and Sweden.
The name sleepmonsters comes from the experience that many non-stop adventure racers are challenged with on Day #3 when they have only slept an hour or two. As the website itself describes the phenomena: “an extreme state of combined sleep deprivation and fatigue, sometimes resulting in strange, and often entertaining, hallucinations.”
